August 9, 2010
Dear ISE Community,
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year. I hope you all had a restful holiday and everyone if eager to begin school Our first student day is Monday, August 16.
I want to remind all families who are new to ISE that we will have an orientation for you on Friday, August 13. Please arrive by 8:00 AM and come to the cafeteria. We will introduce the teachers and distribute schedules to the students. There will be a tour of the facilities and classroom so all our new students feel comfortable on the 16th when all students return for the first day of school. We will talk about bus routes and review the many activities that are offered for the students.
We are pleased to have five new teachers this year. Please be sure to welcome them to the ISE community.
Mrs. Amanda Garrett Reading and ESL
Mr. Timothy Garrett MS Math/Science and HS PE
Ms. Heather Murray Biology and Science
Mrs. Sheilah Murthy MS/HS Art
Mr. Joseph Marchione MS/HS Music
The sale of uniforms we will begin on August 9 so be sure to come in and get the
ISE uniforms and physical outfits before the first day of school. The bookstore will be selling them in the Elementary School multi-purpose room from 8:00 to 3:00.
We will contact all families about our bus schedules. If you have any questions, please be sure to call the school for detailed information.
We have made changes in our secondary school student schedules and will have a two -day rotation this year. We find that this will be simpler for everyone. There will be no FLEX block so many of the activities will be after school. We will hold an activities assembly to inform the students of the possible clubs, activities and sports in which they can participate.
Please be sure to mark down August 25 for our Elementary School Open House and September 1 for the Secondary School Open House. Detailed information will be sent home with the students and via Email. Please be sure to plan to attend.
Our first ISExpress newsletter will come home on August 20 by Email. It will contain a number of articles about the activities offered at the school.
Best regards,
Dr. Robert Brewitt
Superintendent
