English as a Second Language (ESL)

Our ESL Centers are well equipped and our teachers are all native English speakers with graduate qualifications from their home countries. They approach language teaching in a creative, interactive way where the students are free from pressure and can enjoy learning.

We continually revise and update our program of study to keep abreast of new guidelines and be at par with the ESL education all over the world. This ensures that our programmes are fresh and exciting and that our students are more likely to achieve better grades in their schools exams.

English as a Second Language (1-10)

The ESL program at ISE is dedicated to developing language skills and providing equal educational opportunities for ESL students which enable them to be successful in all of their academic programs. High standards are expected of all ESL students.

Students attending our ESL centers enjoy a bright, comfortable and stimulating learning environment. Our teachers are all native English speakers with graduate qualifications from their home countries. Small class sizes ensure students can be given an intensive English Language experience that meets their language learning needs and enhances student learning.

We recognize that students need sufficient time to develop their social and academic language proficiencies. For ESL students to reach their full potential in language acquisition,  the coordination between classroom teacher and ESL teachers, home and school is essential.  Classroom teachers and ESL teachers meet  regularly to plan and address the needs of their second language learners. We believe that effective instruction is an integrated, multifaceted   experience that should be delivered in a language-rich environment. Through the integration of language and content, students are able to develop the language and cognitive competencies necessary in the  mainstream classroom.

We currently support ESL students through direct language and content instruction, support in the mainstream classroom and the monitoring of the ESL students.  The After school activities program also provides opportunities for students to practice and improve their social language proficiency.
